DDoS attack?
Traceroute seems to take a long time (from BT), think even my browser said at one point it was unable to recognise the URL (didnt capture the screenshot, thought maybe it was a DNS lookup failure).

Re: Site's slow
Our stooz is in the process of moving our site over to another service provider. This might conceivably be the explanation?

Re: Site's slow
Is a server upgrade or site move actually happening tonight, or is it just coincidence?
I hadn't seen any announcement yet of any specific dates, as usually website maintenance does involve some downtime, and so normally maintenance periods are announced in advance, to stop people worrying, and to stop them hammering 'reload'
(The site is still being slow even now, later evening. (Not a criticism, just another data point, if useful in diagnosis.))

Re: Site's slow
Well fast and slick this morning so I would assume that it was simply the moving of the site wot dun it. Thanks to the operators.

Re: Site's slow
I have noticed this happening on quite a few occasions over the past few weeks
The site won't load but it is normally ok after 3 or 4 minutes

Re: Site's slow
Well I think the owners should be congratulated if the current performance keeps up. The site has never been as fast I think as it is this morning.

Re: Site's slow
The site is performing well this morning but it hasn't moved from last night, it's still on the same server, elara.servers.prgn.misp.co.uk [91.146.105.202].

Re: Site's slow
I guess it was just a (now resolved) issue with the server then?mc2fool wrote:The site is performing well this morning but it hasn't moved from last night, it's still on the same server, elara.servers.prgn.misp.co.uk [91.146.105.202].
Is the server really responding faster? Certainly feels like it. Maybe in resolving last night's issue they've removed something that was causing the server to be just-a-bit slow?
All speculation of course.

Re: Site's slow
In my experience the site is either normal or slow. It's been slow quite often recently, but right now it's normal. Can't say it seems any faster.
