I seem to have lost my thumbs both up and down!! Have things changed?

Tried several boards including this one and Beerpig's Snug but thumbs gone I tell you gone------and never called me mother. Sorry about that just got rid of some visitors and feeling a little feather headed

Er.... I see the thumbs button in all 3^ posts in this topic.
(I'm using Windows10/PC/Firefox (each up to date) if that is of any consequence).

I currently see no sign of "thumbs" in any post on this thread, or in any other!

However, as I don't really want to use the current rec/'thanks' system it's a case of: "Am I bothered?"

Forgive me if you've already checked this but under UserControlPanel->Profile->Show Recs there is an option to Show or Hide the recs system. I imagine that this could affect things.

Thanks for that, I hadn't looked. I just did and it was set to Show, so I changed it to Hide.

Unfortunately... I now can see thumbs. So I think I'll change it back to Show.

They're back!!!!! I only had an exclamation mark and quotes before but the thumbs have returned and all is well with the world. Well sort of

Show/Hide in the profile doesn't seem to do anything for me.

More specifically, Hide doesn't hide anything of the rec system, it's always shown no matter what the setting is ... not that I actually wanted it hidden, I was just trying it out

Same here. I also tried changing the setting then logging out and back in, but no change.

I seem to remember that the hide/show was set-up when stooz was trying to get recs working originally. Could just be left over from that attempt.

Trouble is, for me they were originally hidden - which I was happy enough with. I then looked at Show/Hide and as it was on set to Show and I made the mistake of changing it to Hide. This resulted in them being Shown! Needless to say, when I set it back to Hide it had no effect, so now I'm stuck with them.

Yes I'm sorry for my part in this. Didn't intend to make this worse for you.

stooz originally had this Show/Hide option in place long before the actual recs system, as a first step. AIUI the idea was to then couple it in once the recs system was implemented. Clearly this hasn't been done, or at least not in a reliable way.

I'm sure our man will sort it out sooner or later.
