Metrics around Site Usage

Good Evening

Are there any metrics around Site Usage. I feel like there has been a significant decline in volume of posts the last few months and I wondered if there was any truth in this or whether I am mistaken?

Regards

Walrus

W,

I have asked Stooz the same question going back around a year ago. Unfortunately I did not get a answer even though I have asked again since, for a variety of reasons. Nevertheless we can help ourselves. If you look at the bottom of the page you will see:

STATISTICS
Total posts 207108 • Total topics 16515 • Total members 4132 • Our newest member byrdewear

You could do us all a favour if you were to record those on approx the 1st of each month. In time we can then sift trends. It is a project that has so far not made it high enough up my to-do list, but a willing volunteer seems to have come along :)

(from my perspective the volume is about in the normal range, and the locations are changing as they always do, but that is personal opinion. I too would like to see stats.)

Regards,
dspp

Based on this small sample, we would appear consistently to have hit 50,000 posts approximately every seven months, since 29 April 2017.

Note these numbers are not derived in the same way as the "Total posts" recorded by dspp from the Home page, for reasons explained in prior posts in the Biscuit Bar. As can be seen by dspp's post being numbered 219707.

50,000 29 Apr 2017
100,000 29 Nov 2017 viewtopic.php?p=100000#p100000 ;)
150,000 04 Jul 2018
200,000 08 Feb 2019
210,000 25 Mar 2019
220,000 TBA viewtopic.php?p=220000#p220000

It's easy do as above, if one wants to check every XX,000 posts, by changing the url to suit but quantity isn't the same as quality, as this reply proves.

I want to do something clever, but I can't.
But in short the site useage is very consistant - I can't however give a post by my month sum, I only have an avergae for ever.
Some clever SQL in the db and I reckon I could do it...

If you can show what the data looks like then I think we'll be able to do the SQL...

Cheers,
