Lemon Fool has stopped accepting sign in paswords!

Trying to open Lemon Fool and sign in with my (correctly typed) password - it was NOT ACCEPTED! (multiple times in several browsers)

I then requested a password reset. The email had a password and a link to activated it. Although the link said the password had been activated successfully, the new password WAS NOT ACCEPTED!!!!

This was not a problem with my machine and/or browser because I tried (and failed) to sign in using several different PCs

The only reason I can post this is that I had one last PC that still had a valid sign in cookie.

Can someone get the site Admin to look at this please....

Thanks, got it - but I may not need it after all....

Either stooz is quick off the mark (that wouldn't surprise me) or the TLF server has just reset itself. Either way, I have just successfully signed in with the reset password I was sent.

Thanks to all concerned, I'll try setting my own preferred password next....

Well, that didn't work (at first). But it gave a clue as to what may have gone wrong with my original password. Looks like the site requirements has been tightened up since I last set my password. I had a 9 character password with mixed case letters and numbers which was an acceptable password at that time. Now symbols are required too.

TLF user control panel wrote:Password must be between 8 characters and 30 characters long, must contain letters in mixed case, must contain numbers and must contain symbols.

I can only surmise that the changed requirement inadvertently had the side effect of preventing me signing in with my (once acceptable, but not under the new rules) original password. If so, others may have the same problem as I did.

Requiring symbols is very hostile to people using password generators as they will usually generate a 20 or 30 character random password with just numbers and upper/lower case.
By forcing symbols it generally means those people will have to select a less secure password instead.

An 8 character password with a dollar on the end is not secure in 2019, much better to make the minimum length 12 to 15 characters.

Not here - just logged out with my non-symbol containing PW and logged back in OK.

Hi.
I haven't changed anything. And I can't find any issues.

Sorry.
I'm not sure what you do here

Thanks for getting back to me. Well, I don't have to do anything now as I have a new password that works.

It's odd that the system decided to start rejecting my original password. Database corruption, perhaps? Perhaps we'll never know, but as I said - all sorted now :)
