Is that the purpose of the “manage foes” feature?

If it's that tin that's been sitting at the back of your cupboard for years, open it and take a sniff. If it smells fine (or at least, as fine as spam ever smells!), maybe spam fritters? If not, chuck it...

My wife would strongly disagree but it's like I'm almost an empath.

I'm sure it will settle down in time.

Wasn't that a Suzi Quatro song: "Can the spam"? ;)

Having read the copious contributions a little further I’d suggest...

Don’t feed the trolls

Yes, as you know, I am talking about the disruptive 'Rules'.

I've never done it before but adding to a list of Foes achieves very little, as those parts of the individual's posts, when quoted by others, are visible.

Does anyone know if one continues to receive Notifications when an ignored Fool posts? Scrap that, they do!

Has anyone found the solution yet?

If the topic is about trolls, the only answer I know of is not to feed them, or otherwise to ban them.

Or,...wait a minute,..... what about limiting posts of new members to a maximum of say 2 or 3 per day until a given period of initial membership has elapsed. :)

The problem with limiting new members post counts, is that one could be limiting the content of value
:o

or the content is c**p. Which I think has been happening recently.

The problem is that newby members do not seem to want to "learn" the rules and just scattergun posts al over the place no matter whether they meet TLFs, the forums or even the threads rules. They also do not seem to bother to learn the tools available to them, thus posts that seem to refer to an existing post but no links so unable to actually follow the flow.

Maybe new members should be made to do "training" befor ethey are allowed to post, aka school children.

I wondered who would react to that post first. I enjoy the study of psychology too haha

A new poster who is posting 250-300 times per week needs a break I think, whether that be by his own choice or forced.

Amen to that - it's making the boards unpleasant to use.

I feel sorry for the moderators, it must be hell trying to keep up with the scattergun approach and the reports.

edited. Just noticed I have posted more in one day (today) then any other time. This retirement is not working for me.

Here we go. I'm generally posting on the same two threads where nobody is complaining.

One comment here and it's 'kick him out'

That's why i commented here. To find who was in that mindset range.

Now i know the threads to avoid . Win win for us all
