AIM Market

There isn't directly a board for the discussion of AIM shares. Some of these can be of a high enough capitalisation to reach the FTSE 350 such as Burford. Burford was higher profile as well because of the Woodford connection and the attack by Muddy Waters.

Recent context is the discussion of the suspension of Stobart Logistics, which had been evicted from the usual shares (LSE) board to "Share ideas".

Hi Alaric,

Motley Fool had a superb and expert grouping for discussion of small caps/AIM and included the Mello company briefings. This was on PaulyPilot's Pub lead by Paul Scott.

This group decamped to Stockopedia and https://qualitysmallcaps.co.uk/. Their move happened before LemonFool was set up. I think the initial feeling here was that with such expertise and quality discussion already safely located in a new home, there was no need for LemonFool to split the discussion.

Maybe check out their discussions over on Stockopedia first. And if you really feel LemonFool needs it's own, then come back and tell us. But until then such minimal discussion of smaller stocks as occurs here should be limited to Share ideas. Where MrC's Smallcap Sweeps is a regular event.

Yes, after all MrC’s Small Cap daily round up is normally all about AIM.

Maybe many of the users of Share ideas haven't seen your post but, as before, I'd certainly support it.

Perhaps a locked cross-post over there from a Mod might assist in gathering further opinions back here.

If you mention AIM then you would have to expand to include shares on other exchanges? Shares is ok as it encompasses all exchanges, imo

How about:
Share ideas (including AIM and other places)

I realise that's not a perfect discriptor but I don't want to get into a long-winded explanation in a title, when in fact anything from anywhere, would be pretty much OK.

Indeed but "including AIM" doesn't preclude other exchanges. As MDW1954 said over there, There's a suggestion here about making the option to discuss AIM shares more explicit rather than exclusive.

More recently there's been a ragbag of equities discussed there viewforum.php?f=33. Some of which are also discussed on a fair number of other boards. None of which necessarily fit the purpose I'm quick to admit (especially if one is not a HYPster).

I don't think it's necessary to rename the board. I've posted about AIM shares on there without any problem. Share Ideas covers it all doesn't it.

Yes it does and no-one is suggesting AIM shares can't be discussed there.

A reason for a suggested change in name is to encourage that board to be used for AIM company discussions and would be more a more obvious port of call for those who are new to TLF.

Whereas main listings can be and are discussed in many other places on TLF, as well as there, but AIM companies can't be discussed in quite a few of those other places.
