jargon buster
We've learnt what SWR means now, but what about HTH used in the same sentence?
I believe jargon is only used to give the impression that people know more than you do. In fact unless it is very well worn jargon, it does nothing but distract people from the essence of the discussion and does the OP no good whatsoever.
In former times, any priesthood would use jargon to show the masses that they were superior and only they could understand the universe: so it is with these minor priesthoods which arise from time to time.

EPIC stands for Exchange Price Information Code. EPIC codes are the abbreviations given to company share quotations.
TIDM. Tradable Instrument Display Mnemonics. A short, unique code used to identify UK-listed shares. Previously known as EPIC.

If you meant in terms of people using codes instead of names: at least they are the common stuff in trade of people on this board. Occasionally, there one that won't be clear but most are the usual candidates.

OP means 'Original Post', which was where Arb saw both the SWR and HTH TLA's to start with....

Re: jargon buster
I have to admit I've used "DAMHIK" on here occasionally, which is one I made up myself, long, long ago.
The context usually helps the reader figure out it means "don't ask me how I know"... hopefully, as I usually use it after describing the consequences of doing something real dopey.

re SWR
Yep, that's what it probably means to me, after some reflection.
Also South West Railway
