It would be very useful to have something like a Twitter account as an alternative comms pathway for a) announcements of downtime and b) for feedback of problems.

When we're seeing the entire domain knocked off the interweb, it's frustrating not knowing what's going on or having a way to report it.

Just for information, I did get the Yahoo redirect virus following the certificate error message, whether this was a coincidence I dont know. I've removed the Yahoo redirect by resetting Chrome settings.

Special thanks to Stooz and the other mods for putting in the hard effort to have TLF, this jewel of knowledge, running so well and securely, thanks.

A couple of resources for people to bookmark for future 'incidents'.

https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

You can ping website domains for various issues from here..https://mxtoolbox.com/NetworkTools.aspx?tab=Website

Or there's a supertool here which has a whole list of tests...https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx

That will tell you if there is a general problem which will affect everyone rather than a specific one to you/your browser and how it is customised - which hopefully will save time for everyone concerned when troubleshooting the site in future and minimise the amount of circular ad nauseum posting that occurs. ;)
