It's based on your previous browsing quite often but I will see what I can do.

Any chance of some quality control as it's like trying to navigate a Moldovan streaming site now.

Well, I use an ad blocker so never see anything. Can you try that?

I have a similar problem as Mosschops, seeing escort services, fake auction 'valuables', heavy industrial machinery like road-building 'diggers', hydro-electric turbines etc, so I decided I had little choice but to block them. But if the ads were UK focused, genuine, and a bit more relevant to 'typical Lemon needs' then I wouldn't object to ads if I knew they were generating income for TLF.

I usually log in via PC or my iPad. The adverts on both are barely noticeable. I've just logged on via my mobile phone (Android) and the adverts are proper in your face. I've just had one automatically open full screen. These type of adverts pee me off. I fully support adverts if they generate revenue for the free sites I visit, but not ones that open automatically or play graphics/sound automatically. Thankfully I rarely use my mobile for browsing, but if I did I'd either get annoyed enough not to visit the site as frequently or get an add blocker.

EDIT - TLF I might put my hand in my pocket though but not for any other site

Of course, it should go without saying that even if someone has an ad-blocker they are still at liberty to support the site providers by making a donation - the two things aren't mutually exclusive... ;)

Good morning,

Please don’t take this the wrong way as I know that it is annoying when someone new comes along and says how about changing what you have been doing for the last few years. :)

I see that the adverts are supplied by adchoice, have you ever thought about offering advert space directly.

This could be across the whole site, on one Section such as "Biscuit Bar" or "Trading my way to a million" or even create a new Section called something like "Site Sponsors".

I certainly appreciate that doing this would be more work, especially as the adverts would need to be hosted on the TLF site as most ad blockers will not block images on the domain visited.

The "Site Sponsors" section seems the simplest as once payment is received you could create the starter thread, the advertiser could add an image link to his site in the first reply and once a month you could simply delete the threads that represent old adverts.

Clearly the number of users here is relatively low, i.e. not in the millions, and some users will not see the adverts as they are paid members or choose not to visit the sponsors section.

Only you know what prices would make sense, for each of the options, but if there was a board in say the Lemon Lounge section called "Site Sponsors" as described above would anyone look at once every few weeks or be interested in advertising on it?

Bye

Ian
