We just bought some garlic and herb Philadelpia after some years and find that it is very disappointing.

It is shiny and slightly sloppy and completely tasteless.

ISTR that this “cream cheese” was creamy and solid originally.

Waste of money.

You want a soft&squidgy garlic/herb cheese that's in supermarkets everywhere, that'll be Boursin.

Not on my shopping list, but something I enjoy when I encounter it. Perhaps what Philadelphia aspires to be.

Lidl's Goldessa Herb and Garlic is just like Phillie used to be, according to my wife.

A darn sight cheaper than Phillie as well.

I like Boursin but that is more 'crumbly' than creamy but taste is excellent.

Always thought that the best way to get this kind of thing was to look in the "deli" section for Le Roulé
- creamier and cheaper then boursin
- and I've got easier packaging to fight through to get to it

I agree with you about the waste of money, my wife buys it but it seems to get mouldy very quickly and I think we throw away more than we use.

On your complaint about the texture, might it be that you bought the low-fat version in error?
