Warning, hoary old joke. A traveller is wandering through a street market in one of those remote places where cannibalism is still practiced. Stopping at a butcher's stall, she sees the offerings laid out on the slab.

"Carpenter's brain, £1.50 per pound. Plumber's brain £2.25 per pound. Teacher's brain, £3 per pound. Politician's brain, £450 per pound."

"Wow, she says to the stallholder, "you really must think very highly of your politicians over here."

The owner gives her a look of sheer disbelief. "Listen, lady, do you realise how many politicians we have to kill to get a pound of brains?"
