I've not got an air fryer, but for equipment-specific questions like this, I'd always take a look through some of the popular models being sold on Amazon, and then use their great 'Search Facility' that allows you to quickly search through all the related product Q&A's and user-reviews, to see if the question has been covered already in those areas.

Yes. I have one and it works fine. Mainly because as post 2 points out, it is actually a fan oven and 'frying' is not what happens inside. Its an oven.

Mine is very crude. There is a heater element in the top of the cooking cavity, like on an old electric cooker ring, and a fan to blow the heat around the chamber. And a thermostat to turn the element on and off and timer you set to determine the cooking period. All very simple but "air fryer" is a misnomer if ever I heard one. There is no way it 'fries'.

Mine is rated at 1.5kW and it heats up in about 3 minutes. Far cheaper to use than the electric oven rated at 3kW and takes 7 minutes to heat up to 180C. Duty cycle on both is about 50% on, 50% off when actually running, so the 'air fryer' is half the cost of the oven to run.

Also, it seems to cook everything a bit quicker than the oven, prolly because the fan is pretty fierce. Sometimes blows tin foil off food you covered in it, for example.
