I happen to be customer of Riverford Organic, the largest food box supplier in the UK. Their food boxes are picked one day and delivered the next. You won't get fresher or healthier food unless you grow it yourself. I also watched Countryfile last night and was appalled to learn of the crisis in UK's apple growers.

I’ve signed too, 36,575. I recall the desperately sad case a few years ago of a farming family having to plough back in tons of healthy carrots rejected by their contracted supermarket.
