Our Lidl had a "French" week last week. I bought a "Duc de Cœur" camembert for under 2£ and baked it for lunch served with lettuce, boiled potatoes and young runner beans from the garden and drizzled with olive oil, it was superb.

Re: baked soft cheese
That is on my culinary bucket list, never tried it. Very classic as I understand it, and decadent.

Re: baked soft cheese
Sainsbury's had these at £1.60, one is now stinking up the fridge. In a sandwich bag tied in a knot inside a plastic airtight container. Well, it's either porous or not quite airtight...
By the way, Morrisons had smoked/roasted garlic bulbs, haven't seen these since 2006 in Nice. Any ideas what to do with it? I have a hand blender now, could I make a soup and use this garlic somehow?

smoked/roasted garlic bulbs
I can buy these quite often from farm shops in the area - never seen them in Morrisons so far. You can do anything with it you can do with plain ordinary garlic as long as you like the smoked flavour. Oddly enough I don't really like smoked flavours except for smoked garlic.
