I received an email this morning saying my Amex card had been deactivated from my Google Pay account
It gives no reason why, but says if the card has not expired (which it hasn't) I can re add it
I log on onto my gpay account and it is still there
I look on my phone, and it is also still there (I even added a nickname to it to see it that took and it did)
so everything appears to be OK
has this happened to anyone else ?
I know it's not a credit card, so more appropriate place if need be

Re: Google pay - deactivation
I would be very dubious of such an email.
Didi it contain the last 4 digits of the card? Did it state the card supplier?
Did it provide a link to follow?
I've received many an email or phone call about expensive orders, kindly providing options to rectify the state, Strangely avoiding that method but checking the website shows no such thing.
I'd recommend ignoring the email.

Re: Google pay - deactivation
Thanks
it seemed like a genuine email from Google
not sure about the last 4 numbers, I have deleted it now
there wasn't even a link to reactivate it (the normal way to scam)
I did open a new browser window to check my gpay account
you can never be too careful
