Pembroke B VCT new offer

#165496

Postby scotia » September 10th, 2018, 2:26 pm

Pembroke B VCT have launched a new offer for 2018/2019 and 2019/2020. They are targeting a £20M raise with a £20M over-allotment. They state that the VCT rule changes in April 2016 and 2018 regarding the types of business and forms of investment have had no impact on their investment strategy. They state that they see exciting new opportunities and have a strong pipeline of deals.
I have a small investment in Pembroke B - its investments seem quite different from most of my other VCTs, and tend to target the luxury end of the market. I'm not sure how this would be affected in a UK downturn. I'll think about it, and may increase my holding. I don't think there will be a rush for the £40M.

I have had my eye on these for a while but think that the dividend is still a bit light. Still its a bit of new blood. Its a very modern website !

Some have duly arrived. I think that I have paid a lot for them as the NAV has risen a fair bit recently and the discount is approx 20%. They are using a registrar that I am unfamiliar with (shareregistrars.uk.com) and they dont have an online presence with them which is a nuisance. On the plus side I think that the tax residency was sorted out on the application form.

From what I can see the NAV at 31 December 2017 was 101.33p. The NAV at 30 June 2018 which was used for the recent shsre issue was 107.10p. A 3p dividend was paid on 31 October 2018. Hence, I would see that as positive in that it is going in the right direction.
Share Registrars are not often used. I have come across them with Amati and some small unlisted companies. Yes, no online presence, but I've found their service by 'pkone or email fine.

WealthClub have re-negotiated their initial charge with Pembroke and will be sending a cheque for the difference to the people who have just received some. It should arrive in a few weeks. Every bit helps , its a nice touch.
