Allocations

#212191

Postby BusyBumbleBee » April 2nd, 2019, 5:26 pm

Just before the end of the tax year there has been a massive allocation of new shares - notably Albion and Northern Venture. Allocation prices reflect the latest NAVs - higher in the case of Albion VCTs. But particularly notable is the massive Director share purchases of NVT shares. See https://www.investegate.co.uk/northern- ... 0000H5875/ and others - one of which was for £200 Ks worth..

Big vote of confidence in the company there

EDIT :: Now they are coming in for Northern VCT 2 as well.

I thought the figures for the purchases were interesting so have put them here - enjoy

Northern One

Code: Select all

Directors Name         Date        QTY         Price     Total holding
Nigel Jonathan Beer   2 April 2019   14,421   £0.693   227,216
Richard James Green   2 April 2019   108,162   £0.693   187,907
Tim Roland Levett   2 April 2019   21,632   £0.693   379,748
David Andrew Mayes   2 April 2019   289,165   £0.692   650,960
Northern TWO
David Peter Gravells   2 April 2019   9,380   £0.639   44,668
Alastair M. Conn   2 April 2019   15,674   £0.638   476,393
Frank Leslie G Neale   2 April 2019   15,634   £0.639   156,482

David Mayes purchase is for the whole £200K allowed in a tax year which is interesting on several counts not least because it is all invested in one VCT - shows huge confidence in it. Of course it will show even more if he does a similar amount for the upcoming year.

BBB
Well that's certainly a statement, indeed a most bullish statement, in stark relief to the general reporting of vct directors purchases in their dris scheme and that is all we see.
It will be most interesting to see if this bullishness is repeated if they have another offering for 19/20

Having checked my Computershare account I see that allocations have now been made from the 2018/19 Albion Top Up Offers. You can log in / register here:

PS I notice the dividend payment method is showing as 'cheque' rather than bank mandate. I presume Albion will send the banking instructions to Computershare in due course, based on what we put on the application form.

I've had some unwelcome cheque payments on new holdings, despite having specified instructions clearly in my applications. If I were you I'd fix the information at Computershare myself, if only to maximise your chances of them getting it right.

(As of today I no longer hold any certificated VCTs, they're all in a nominee account. No quirky registrars to deal with!)
