What I wanted to know was whether the Govt was finally getting round to legislate on the extension of VCT and EIS tax reliefs.
They are.

All that’s left is to work out whether it’s worth doing my usual having taken a right bath recently!
Cheers

I would have been quite happy if they had stopped new VCT issues but allowed indefinite running.

Over the last few years I have significantly reduced my VCT investments as a proportion of my earnings as I feel I can often get just as good a post-tax return from investments that are liquid.

That note contains these two sentences

This measure is not expected to have an Exchequer impact.

Economic impact : This measure is not expected to have any significant economic impacts.

Which about sums up my view of vcts at the moment,

I agree with these sentiments, it certainly has not been very happy in vct land recently, particularly in 2023
