Mobeus bumpf today (two identical copies). Including a bunch of promotional "offers". The one from Virgin Wines looks decent value if the wines are up to scratch; others are a bit too specialist to pick up on a whim. I'm not sure if all the companies concerned are Mobeus investees.
It's the kind of junkmail that would've gone straight into the recycling if it hadn't been in Mobeus's bundle. I'm just wondering if this kind of marketing actually generates business for them: might any Fools take up any of these offers?
I hope Mobeus isn't ripping investees off for this old-fashioned advertising!

Re: Shareholder perks
I have not waded through the Mobeus stuff yet but, in principle, I am all for VCTs encouraging investors to give business to portfolio companies and securing favourable terms. I have not yet placed business with Mobeus VCT portfolio companies, but I have more than once taken advantage of the generous discount that the ProVen VCTs have secured with a rather trendy jeweller called Monica Vinader; a growing company that has been a fantastic investment for ProVen. Merry Christmas!

Erk! I thought Monica Vinader was posh and expensive. And in the part of London I'd never even look in the shops, knowing they're way above my budget. But they were indeed a good investment, and would've been a whole lot better if the merger of the D shares with the others hadn't been so unfavourably timed.

Don't know, but seems reasonable. As a Whitbread shareholder I've actually taken advantage of shareholder perks at Premier Inns. But I don't think Albion investees are available in locations I've needed to stay.

Yes, at the Harrogate hotel which was eventually sold at a loss.Karellan wrote:Didnt Albion (Close) offer deals on Hotel stays some time ago ?
Pembroke make available on request a selection of offers which can be used at some of their investee companies.
I had an offer to particiapte in the Virgin Wines buyout but decided not to proceed. I reckon most of their wines, and those of competitiors such as Naked, to be over-priced without the initial voucher and many are not to my taste. They have quite a high cost to get each new suctomer and then they have to keep them buying to recoup that customer acquisition cost.
