Interactive Investor - Tax Certificate doesn't cover whole year

#138049

My tax certificate only appears to show income after January 2018 - after the change to the new platform I guess.

I don't seem to have any tax certificate from the old platform for the first part of the year in the migrated documents section.

Is anyone having the same problem - or does your tax certificate show the entire year?

They have to do one of two things.

Either fire up the "old" system and use it to produce the tax certificate, or load the "old" data to the current system and generate an additional or revised certificate.

I think they will be in breach of the law if, eventually, they do neither. I think there was another Broker some while back, Selftrade I think, who used the excuse of a new system to delay the production of the CT61s for as long as possible.

I got a reply from Interactive Investor - apparently they will issue another document for the old Interactive Investor customers covering the period up to the 10th of December.

It's annoying that they can't combine the two documents into one, that they don't issue both documents at the same time and that they don't bother to inform me that this is happening.

As we have been through platform changes during the 2017/2018 period, any
dividends you have received in the 2017-18 tax year prior to December 2017 will
not appear on your consolidated tax certificate.

If you have received dividends this tax year before December 2017 you will
also receive a consolidated tax voucher. If you are yet to receive both
documents then this will be with you by the end of the week.

Below is a breakdown of what each document means:

Consolidated Tax Voucher

Your CTV relates to when you were an Interactive Investor Trading Limited
customer and provides dividend and income information for the period of 6th
April 2017 - 10th December 2017.

Consolidated Tax Certificate

Your CTC relates to your new positions as an Interactive Investor Service
Limited from 11th December 2017 to 5th April 2018

Selftrade ended up with one CTC issued by the old company and one by the new. As I recall one was unusually prompt and the other somewhat delayed, but not problematically so.
