Hargreaves Lansdown cutd FX fees

Some good news from a broker for a change as HL make significant cuts to their FX fees:

It is just a shame that they no longer offer US listed ETFs, although that is not their fault.

They have also cut the fee to convert foreign currency dividends from 1.7% to 1%. That is Still high compared with Youinvest (0.5%) and IG (0.3%) though.

This is good news as far as my Kone dividend is concerned. I do wish they'd cut the charges from 1 April, though, as I purchased two tranches of Kone shares in April and incurred the previous, higher fees!

Best wishes

Mark.

Now I would like them to allow me to hold my USD dividends in USD until I am ready to reinvest them....

If they are in an ISA no one will allow that, regulations.

If not then you could look at someone like Interactive Brokers, who are much better at handling multiple currencies than anyone else I know of.

Thanks Peter,

it is my SIPP with HL. Having just moved my Barclays part to HL I don't fancy doing the process again. Maybe HL could just do like interactive!

I suspect you might find the same issues about holding foreign currencies apply to SIPPS too, I'm not sure.

I'd also suspect IB don't do SIPPS either!
