Thanks Kiloran. Had just noticed and was about to post that both HYPTUS and Eventide's Excel plugin weren't bringing up any changes, but find that you're way ahead of me.
Yahoo's web portfolios look a bit more together - at least MPAC and the All Share results are showing.

Could be worse - they could have hired TSB's programmers!

cheers

Just looked further at the Yahoo web page (using LLOY.L as an example) https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/LLOY.L?p=LLOY.L

On initial loading, it shows a price of 66.12 (yesterday's close) and a timestamp of "As of April 24 4:37PM BST. Market open"
A few seconds later, the price updates to (presumably) the current price, and this updates as the market price updates, but still with "As of April 24 4:37PM BST. Market open". Some time later, maybe 10s, maybe 1m, the timestamp changes to the correct(?) data, such as "As of April 25 1:04PM BST. Market open."

Same for other stock symbols, and same for Chrome, IE, Firefox

The API used by HYPTUSS and others is still showing yesterday's close for all stocks I've checked. It's sometimes slow, and sometimes returns no data.

Good luck with that. They never replied to me when I questioned some data a while back. It got corrected, eventually.....

I see the same issue, the first call of the URL (whether automated or a plain webpage request) delivers stale data. Where the request is on a webpage, the embedded javascript soon refreshes to the correct data. But automated calls don't have this benefit, so all scrapers are unlikely to be working as far as I can make out.

I don't know if this is by accident or design, but leaving it a few days has usually sorted out problems in the past. I'm not holding my breath this time though.

Looks like the Yahoo Finance web page and the API are now (as of 14:30 BST) working correctly and the data is credible for those stock symbols I have checked.

Miracles do happen...... I got a response:
We have had some site problems this morning. Our engineers are aware and have been working to resolve the issues. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have most issues resolved shortly. Thank you

A bit bland and I guess a generic answer, but somebody at Yahoo did at least respond.

Spoke too soon. Today "no data for tate.l".

I've also noticed that on the web page https://finance.yahoo.com/, if you search for TATE.L and hit enter, it usually displays correct data, but if you then refresh the web page, it consistently responds with "No results for 'tate.l' . Same for many other shares, such as MRW.L, though GSK.L seems to be consistently OK.

Maybe Yahoo use the same IT team as TSB :D

Be careful they have called in IBM to sort it out. Which in the "old" days might have probably included me............

I'm glad it's not just me. I've been trying to obtain ULVR weekly historic data unsuccessfully for a week, and this is the result of this morning's attempt:

Time period:
Show:Historical prices
Frequency:Weekly
Currency in GBp
Download data
Date Open High Low Close* Adj. close** Volume
27 Apr 2018 3,961.50 4,059.00 3,947.50 4,051.00 4,051.00 2,284,011
23 Apr 2018 3,910.00 4,059.00 3,900.00 4,051.00 4,051.00 7,668,556

That's all! The time period selected (and showing on screen) was 3 months but this didn't copy and paste into the above.
I did, however, obtain a full set of weeklies for TATE last week. But it is definitely flaky, because it seems hit and miss, with ULVR being a miss all the time - not only that the site seems extraordinary slow to communicate.

Just doing some software testing this afternoon, and I've not actually been able to see the normal Yahoo price-data issues that have been so prevalent lately.

Is this just me, or do others think that things seem to have improved recently?

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

On a sample of one, JD Sports kept coming and going. Unfortunately that is no longer happening, such that I can see the fall today!

I've just thrown 3 shares and the FT All-share index at Yahoo at 2s intervals, and it's worked fine for over 30min, though sometimes the response for ^FTAS was a bit slow.

I did rattle their cage again at the weekend but I've had no response.

Today's been ok when I've looked but yesterday MPAC and the All share index were both missing again at a couple of times. As I recall TATE, was one of the other common problem shares but I don't have that in my portfolio so don't know if that was out as well.

Haven't checked HYPTUSS, but my yahoo portfolio has been ok with TATE today.

The three that were playing up for me - TATE, MRW & PFG - all now seem to be OK. I've tried them a few times and all return prices each time.

So far so good today again. Let's hope they've finally fixed it.

On a slightly different aspect (not relevant to the data aquisition tools like HYPTUS) has anyone else seen weirdness in the Yahoo graphs recently? I'm seeing a lot of them showing the wrong timespan - 5-day graphs instead of 6 month ones, some timespans missing altogether for some shares.
For instance Unilever is currently giving me the same graph for 1 mnth, 3 mnth, 6 mnth, YTD, and 1 year; and it's actually for 16 days!! 2 Year gives me one for 4 weeks with a weekly column instead of daily. Weird!
