Digital Look yield update not working

I am using the hyp-top-up spreadsheet v11.4 and the Digital Look yield update is no longer working at all.

I'm seeing an error on a large portfolio, after some data is taken in, but the vanilla v11.53 download with just BP in the list is working fine -

I think we've had this issue before, and it seems to be an issue with Digital Look rather than the tool, and the good news is that it fixed itself after a relatively short period.

I propose we monitor the situation for a while, and see how things develop.

It would be good to hear from others if they have any additional findings or information during this period.

I think we've had this issue before, and it seems to be an issue with Digital Look rather than the tool, and the good news is that it fixed itself after a relatively short period.

I've just found this thread from December, initiated by the ever-helpful vrdriver, that discussed the same error that we're seeing tonight -

A Microsoft Visual basic dialogue box pops up with:

Run-time error '-2147012894 (80072ee2)':

The operation timed out

This happens after a seemingly random number of rows have been updated.

It did seem to fix itself, and seemed to be related to what we might consider to be 'busy periods', so if anyone needs to gain a view on current Forecast Yields, then I'd suggest perhaps leaving it until a bit later tonight and giving it another go.

The thread from December only lasted a week, so I hopefully this issue won't unduly affect us for too long this time either.

I just tried the current v11.53 with 10 shares and it worked perfectly.

I then tried v11.4 with the same 10 shares and they all returned '???' for the yield

v11.52 was introduced in january specifically to handle the changes to the Digital Look website, so I strongly recommend you update to the current version.

I was hoping to avoid needing to update the version as I have modified my spreadsheet quite a bit. But it looks like I have no choice.

I don't think there were any structural changes to the worksheets between 11.4 and 11.53 so you should be able to just copy the macros from 11.53 and use them to replace those in 11.4.
And probably also replace the Digital Look Data Sheet.
