Forecast Dividend error
Hi Chaps
It's that time of year when i update my HYP portfolio.
i'm running the hyp top up spreadsheet v11. Unfortunately i get a "run time error. The operation timed out" when it gets to the Pheonix Group line.
I've updated the digital look data sheet kindly added by Kiloran earlier this month.
I had a trawl through other discussions but can't find this problem mentioned.
The line from the data sheet is...
/equity/Phoenix_Group_Holdings_DI Phoenix Group Holdings (DI) PHNX Life Insurance PHNX 2366179
Any ideas?
Merry Xmas to all !!!

Re: Forecast Dividend error
I'm not at home right now, but changing the first column of the Digital Look Data Sheet to
/equity/Phoenix_Group_Holdings-14038
should solve the problem.

Re: Forecast Dividend error
Wow, thanks for the quick response Kiloran.
That was the last issue/update i had to deal with.
That's what happens when you only update 4 times a year...
Many thanks

I've updated the file digital_look_data_sheet.txt at http://lemonfoolfinancialsoftware.weebl ... op-up.html to accommodate the change to PHNX

If you click on the button "Open DL Site", you will see that there is no data for Forecast Yields for these shares on the Digital Look (Webfg) site.
I can modify the code so that it reports Forecast Yield of 12% if that makes you feel good

As far as I am aware, there are no Forecast Yields for any Investment Trusts. I thought HYPTUSS returned the Latest Yield (in red) for all Investment Trusts instead.
Unfortunately, FCIT and LWDB aren't showing Latest Yield either.

At least on my sheets it shows n/a. So it recognises them as IT's.

Re: Forecast Dividend error
I am now thoroughly confused.
For some of my ITs (e.g. CTY, MYI, HFEL) HYPTUSS returns a yield figure in red, giving a latest yield.
For a couple (FCIT, LWDB) it shows n/a. This in itself is not an issue, but then this messes up the suggested top up priorities for everything.
So I wind up manually overtyping 0 in the yield column, which fixes the other top up priorities, but don't know what else I am breaking

You're not breaking anything, other than perhaps not creating the best data for the two missing yields, which might then mess up the ordering calculations.
On the occasions where yields go missing for IT's, then I always find that Trustnet yield figures are readily available.
Trustnet currently show yields of 1.61% for FCIT and 3.13% for Law Deb -
https://www.trustnet.com/factsheets/t/fj19/foreign--colonial-investment-trust
https://www.trustnet.com/factsheets/t/im38/law-debenture-corporation-plc (select the 'Detailed Info' section..)
On occasions where I've had a number of holdings with yield data becoming unavailable for a while, I've been known to copy the previous Forecast Yield figures into a spare column on the right-hand-side of the main portfolio area, and then back-fill any missing yield figures with the previously scraped ones.
This is often near enough for my use-patterns most of the time, as I tend to find most yield figures are relatively stable to some degree.
Cheers,
Itsallaguess

This is frustrating but normal. It often happens when a company name or epic changes, and Digital Look then has no history to create Latest Yield, so it results in n/a, or, sometimes, 0.
The correct response is to overtype with your own estimate of yield, based, for example, on the total dividend over the past rolling 12 months and the current share price.
Ultimately, Digital Look tends to get its data cleaned up.

Re: Forecast Dividend error
I over type all my ITs using data from Theaic website. SCF seems to show 1/2 what it should from webfg. MCT comes back as ???? On my own entry to hyptuss, so am used to doing this now.
