Slightly more promising response via Secure Message from FD...

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. As Joe mentioned in his email, we are looking to reinstate QIF following feedback from our customers. Regrettably, we can't give you timescales for when this will happen but hopefully this will be within the next few weeks.

Thank Goodness! That was faster than I was expecting - frankly I was thinking it would take them months.

Great news from First Direct. They have re-added the facility to download statements in QIF format.

Clearly, it pays to protest.

A bit of a thread resurrection!

I've been downloading my Amex transactions and importing them into Money ever since I've had an Amex card, but this month the statements area of their website has changed and the MS Money format option has gone! This was confirmed via a live chat and my disappointment is apparently being fed back to the web developers!

However, the Quicken QFX format is still an option and, although the downloaded file won't be immediately accepted by Money, I've discovered a simple trick to remedy this. All you need to do is use a text editor and modify one tag near the start of the file. I used Wordpad in Windows.

You need to find this statement: <OFX xmlns:ns2="http://ofx.net/types/2003/04"> and change it to <OFX>

I used the file>import menu to bring it into Money, but it might work if you changed the file type from qfx to ofx and then double clicked it.
