On the fly prices

#227523

Postby eepee » June 6th, 2019, 4:22 pm

On a page such as this:-
https://www.google.com/search?q=lon:mar ... 2Ym3gAw2:0

If you ripple through the graph, you get readings for different times within the graph period.

Is it possible to extract those readings either as a table or through a call loop?

Or is there a site that does give these readings?

My intention would be to create a compare beyond the two that the above page can give.

ep

I used to have a program to extract this data but Google then changed their finance website and I have not looked at this again. Not easy, if at all possible.

You can download historical prices using a spreadsheet in Google Docs. See: https://support.google.com/docs/answer/3093281?hl=en

You can also download historical prices from Yahoo. See, for example, https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SSE.L/history?p=SSE.L

By the way, this type of question is probably best asked on the Financial Software board: viewforum.php?f=27

Many thanks for your response.
On a program I scrape data at defined intervals but this new excercise would require having to scrape all the ones I am interested in which are likely to be in-sector comparisons. Furthermore, unless I save all historic values I would not have the ability that the google page gives of 1-day / 5-days / 1 month with intermediate values. This is something that the day historic grabs do not have.

I take your point about the Financial Software board and I'll see if I can have the thread moved to there.

Thanks.
