One other thing that may be relevant.

I've always gone direct to dividenddata, but I tried using the 'view dividends' button and that fails.

URL it produces is: https://www.dividenddata.co.uk/dividend-payment-date-search.py?searchTerm=TATE

Response from the website is:
----------------------------------------------------
500
Looks like we're having some server issues
Please try reloading the page

For info torata, the URL above is absolutely fine and is working for me currently, so given that you've got a fixed IP address then I suspect that this is the issue, and that your IP address is currently blocked from accessing the data that the HYPTUSS tool requires from the dividenddata site.

When this happens for those of us with non-fixed IP address web services, we're able to turn our broadband routers off for a minute and then turn them back on, which normally resets our IP address with a new variable address, removing the block that happens from frequent access to the dividenddata site.

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

Hello IaaG

It doesn't seem to be a simple IP blocking, because I'm able to access the site fine with my browser.

Kiloran had written:
I know from previous investigations a year or three ago, too many requests from a web browser also causes lockout, so my guess is that the lockout is based not just on IP address but also something else, probably related to the browser user agent I would guess.

so I was seeing if there had been any movement on that basis.

No, I'm not on Firefox and Chrome - I get the "500 Internal server error" (Opera with built in VPN accesses fine)
However, I am able to access https://www.dividenddata.co.uk/ fine on all browsers.
Firefox has a couple of privacy add-ons like Ublock Origin, but Chrome is completely vanilla.

Update edit:
But I've just noticed that if I use the search box on the dividenddata site, then I get the 500 error message. I always use ctrl+f so I've never noticed before.

Hi Torata.

I've done a lot of investigation into the Dividend Data problem over the past few months, and it's due to a combination of IP Address and the specific Dividend Data URL. HYPTUSS uses the ex-div URL https://dividenddata.co.uk/ex-dividend- ... hTerm=TATE and so this is what is blocked if too many queries are made. Other Dividend Data URLs are OK. If you go to the main URL https://dividenddata.co.uk/ and enter an Epic and then hit the Search button, it will block you (error 500) on any normal browser if HYPTUSS has overloaded the site. You can, of course, overcome this by using a standalone VPN, or the Opera built-in VPN.
I've been doing a lot of work to try and work around the problem. Normally, HYPTUSS fails after 12-13 shares. By adding in lots of bells and whistles, I've got this up to 15, which is still unsatisfactory for a typical HYP. I've still got a few more tricks up my sleeve but I'll park those for the moment.

I've had a chat with Itsallaguess and we have decided to release an update. We identified 2 other credible sources of dividends, and I've had those working in the LibreOffice version for the past month or so and they seem to be OK. I've also added a couple of new features. I'll work on adding all of this into the Excel version, then we'll need to do some more thorough testing and update the documentation. I reckon it will take a week or so.

I'm willing to release the current LibreOffice test version if that is of interest to you. Let me know if you want it,
