A long time ago now, but I think that the discussion was about the inflexibility of adult music lessons compared to how it works in the UK.

Talking of music, not many people know that Chopin used to like composing and playing his piano at the top of mineshafts. Apparently, the wooden platform and beams amplified the sound. One day, the beams gave way and his enormous grand piano fell to the bottom of the mineshaft.

It's from there that he got the inspiration for his famous Study in A Flat Minor.

That Schenkerian stuff sounds kind of kinky. You obviously took the theory a lot further than me. I still remember a bit about figured bass, but never really understood why it was important. Actually, one of my projects on the list for when I retire is to go back to my music..... and finally play something with more than three sharps or flats in it!
