Sorry to learn that Multiyork has ceased trading. They produced very nice furniture, much of it produced in the UK. It wasn't cheap, but well made, and not as expensive as Heals.
I never understood their name, however, and wonder if it worked against them.

Funny, I always thought they sold home gym equipment in Argos. But then, in a world where Kenwood makes audio equipment and Porsche sells wristwatches, maybe nothing ought to surprise me any more?
Sorry to hear that Multiyork are gone, though. Whoever they were.

I bought two beautiful armchairs from them a couple of years back. Not sure where I could go now, for furniture of the same quality.

I have recently bought a sofa and a chair from a company called Loaf and am very happy with them.
My previous sofas were from John Lewis and I still have one of them after more than 20 years.

I'll raise you 24 years for a pair of sofas from Marks & Spencer. Comfortable and still classy. Mind you, the wife did rip the cushioning out of them when we first got them, and replaced with a better grade of composite foam and other specialist cushiony stuff. No, don't ask me for the recipe, it's all above my pay grade.
