My first thought was it is a pleasuring rod of some sort. Then for some strange reason I remembered when in the 70's/80's South Africa banned those roll-on deodorants with round caps as doctors were getting very busy extracting them..,

Remember those mini catalogues of 'useful' tat that used to come with magazines etc. Perhaps they still do.
I was looking through one of those and there was an advert for a 'neck massager' with a pic of a woman holding to her neck something that was clearly, obviously, 100% a vibrator...
The text said something like - .."will give a deep, penetrating massage to sooth away aches and pains"

Judging from how it felt at the time, it's what my GP used to give me a prostate examination.

Think yourself lucky. If he had sent you off to a consultant for a biopsy, then the inserted device had a snipping tool at the end - five snips on each side of the prostrate. I counted every one.

Are you absolutely sure you went to the right place?
You do know that the 'B' in BDSM does not stand for 'Biopsy' don't you?

I do count myself lucky and I'm sorry to hear that you had to have that particular procedure. Apparently 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. Nuts are considered to be good for prostate health and can be good to eat too. I get mine from here:

(I have no relationship with the business other than as a customer).

I understand that the first vibrator was marketed as precisely the above, a Japanese product called a Hitachi Wand.
Wiki: 'The Hitachi Magic Wand is an electrical, AC-powered wand vibrator, originally manufactured for relieving tension and relaxing sore muscles, but most famous for its use as a sex toy.'
