Well O'Brien has cornered the market.
And the Irish too.
They have so many horses they could probably win this race (as they did the Oaks today) with whatever they care to send out.
Its not the races they have cornered- it is the bloodstock ie hold some of your horses back, don't trump each other, go selectively for the black type.
Okay.
Here is tomorrows field.
There are 12 runners.
O'Brian has five.

Five?
A field of 12?
Well, fellow Snuggers, I deduce three tings
1. One of his horses is going to win this
2. Everyone else is there not so much to make up the numbers but to get the black type and collect the excellent place prize money
3. Two quid each way on all his runners at SP costs 20 pounds.
I'll go for 3.
Let's see hey?
PS what a shame a few owners can corner the market. I hope all the O'Brian horses are beaten but the rich get richer and unfortunately, I cant see it.
Good luck all.

Re: Derby (and groan)
Well goes to show.
All the O'B horses were beaten out first 3.
The Fav Saxon Warrior was boxed in but anyone who follows órses will agree when the going got tough, the tough get going.
Saxon didn't get going.
He didn't stay.
So Godolphin unexpectedly won the race at 16/1
There was a camera on the owner as it crossed the line.
Acceptable, but not a big deal by the look of it.
If success and pleasure become a habit, they cease to be a pleasure.
Where, oh where are you, the Arthur Budget's of the world?

Re: Derby (and groan)
A little harsh - Sheik Mo has been known to do a little jig on an occasion - though not a Riverdance given the nationality of his usual opposition.
Clearly Saxon Warrior was beaten on merit - but have a close look at the race - O Murphy clearly rode Roaring Lion to beat SW and hemmed in him about 2.5f out - a successful manoeuvre but unfortunately RL did not stay the last 1f or so.
