Re: The World Cup 2018 general pub chat thread.
We all still watching? Neymore doing his usual antics, play acting, diving, crying, smashing the ball down, arguing and still mostly involved in all the action, including scoring. I suppose for 200 mill, he is entitled to be a primadonna and yet of the three, Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar....Ronaldo with his new look clean haircut, no pansy frills and no tattooe'd backhead, (even Pogma, has no perm this world cup) is the leading star. Is it just me, but I really can't stand all these mass tattoos on people let alone footballers.

Re: The World Cup 2018 general pub chat thread.
another quote...."Why do we bother with world Cup Tournaments? Might just as well put Germany in the Final and be done with it."
No wonder Real Madrid won the UCL three times in a row...Ronaldo, Modric and Kroos.
I just cannot stand seeing Ozil play..he is useless and couldn't understand what Wenger saw in him so hopefully Zee Germans will NOT go all the way again. I'm likely to throw something at the TV.

Re: The World Cup 2018 general pub chat thread.
Kroos had a pretty poor game, but saved them at the last with a great goal.
As an analyst, I'm fascinated by the vagaries of the group system. This time, Argentina only have 1 point and a goal difference of -3, but if they beat Nigeria in their last game, they'll almost certainly go through (unless Iceland beat Croatia). Meanwhile, Mexico have a 100% record in the competition including defeating the reigning World Champions, but if they lose their last match against Sweden, they're almost certainly out (unless Germany fail to beat South Korea).
I'm really getting the feeling that this could be a breakthrough World Cup where an outsider wins it - maybe Serbia, Croatia, Mexico, Portugal or Belgium.
But the big 4 of Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Spain are still around, and of those only Argentina are unlikely to make it out of the group stages.

Second match now, where England's posession at the back has been very poor.....
Is this scoreline again going to mask a frailness that will get punished against the first good side we come up against?
Still, enjoy, it whilst we can!!
Cheers,

Ha, ha.
Deliberately mixing up the sports, nationalities and the people involved.
You’ve haven’t mentioned much about the cricket since Scotland’s famous victory. Nor their exploits against Argentina (who were poor). Not even the ODIs against Australia.

Just give England the trophy now and we can all get on with other stuff.

Oh, and what's the crack with 'Loftus Cheeks'? <snigger>
Well know in the bottom of our hearts that the 95th minute winner by ze Germans pretty much means they're going to win it now.
Snorvey deliberately ignoring the significance of this win. It's Panama! The only country in the world named after a hat.

Just to cheer you up, England just managed to beat Australia this afternoon, albeit nobbut just, and Lewis Hamilton led the French GP from start to finish.
