God damn it. I just spent half an hour creating a post saying that people who come here love it, so we shouldn't denigrate Britain.
And then my computer crashed and I lost everything.
I'll start again. My Mrs has invited her niece over for the weekend. My Mrs is Russian and the niece is Russian. She's 16 years old.
It's incredibly refreshing to hear someone say that the town that you live in is beautiful.
I walked from Westminster to Tower Bridge last night and it's amazing how many tourists think that London is the best place that they've ever been.

My own experience: two years of London landlords was a whole lot worse than seven months homeless and sleeping out. Never again.

I think you were unlucky. I was a London landlord from 1978 to 2010. I had 15 housing units and over 100 tenants. I am fairly confident none of those tenants would speak about me in those terms. In fact two of them are very good friends of mine to this day, and are still grateful to me for providing housing for them.
