Snogging - betrayal or not?

I recall reading Frank Skinner's autobiography
A tabloid offered him and his then-girlfriend a free holiday in the West Indies - in return they had to agree to being photographed 'paparazzi style' walking along beach etc.
So at least some of these photos are staged...

That was his girlfriend.

Not really a scandal until they offer him money to snog someone who wasn't his girlfriend . . .

Well, I am shocked.

I have never even thought about another man when I've been in a relationship, let alone snogged one, or anything more. And I've never married any of them in the first place (thank god).

One ex said to me once "if you got drunk and slept with someone else, I'd forgive you". Unprompted. I said "do I have to be drunk.....?" - no I said "why would you say something like that, are you planning to do it yourself?".

And yes, a snog with someone else would be the end of the relationship for me.

On a hopefully lighter subject, Strictly "stars" Seann Walsh and Katya Jones have been pictured snogging in the street and have apologised saying it was just a one-off mistake because they'd had too much to drink. Seann has a long-time girlfriend, and Katya is married to another Strictly dancer.

Do you think their behaviour is relationship-ending, nothing to worry about, or something in-between?

Some relationships are more open than others. I have, in the distant past, been introduced to a husband and his wife's boyfriend.

More recently, I was in a pub and met a married couple I knew. The wife was getting a bit flirty with the landlord while I was talking to the husband. Before they left, she had her back to the landlord and was holding his arms around her with his hands against some lumps of her anatomy which most people would consider should be for the sole pleasure of her husband (and for the provision of nutriment of her baby if she had one). The husband may well have had something to say to his wife after they left but they are still together.

Engaging in activity of a sexual nature (such as snogging) with the hope that one's partner will not find out is, I consider, a more serious matter.

Back in the nineties I emerged from a guest room to find my then wife snogging my "mate". I demonstratively shut the door making a noise to bring it to an end.

The next day he declared it was just a "party" kiss - whatever that is. My wife didn't feel the need to refer to the incident. I didn't pursue it for the sake of our marriage.

Fast forward a few years and she found time to entertain another "friend" on evenings I was away.

Fast forward a few more years and I sought company elsewhere, whereupon I was delivered a divorce petition.

My feeling is that the rot has already set in if you find your partner snogging someone else.

Can't get my head around it personally but that is my problem not there's I guess.

I think it's the open and honest part that is critical. Finding out second hand, after the event rarely ends well.

It's not for me personally. I am fiercely loyal and expect my nearest and dearest to be likewise.
