Someone in my family is polyamourous.
And I 'see' a guy who is in an open relationship. Suits me for now.

I’ve not been that comfortable with parrots, even less since one tried to take my finger off.
“He likes being stroked“ apparently.
Oh really?

I am racking my brains for the true meaning of this gnomic statement. Who was? Heinlein? Walsh? Father Christmas? And what kind of a euphemism is "pining for the fjords" anyway?
I am, however, rather more sure about the inference of the question in the OP's post:
Do you think their behaviour is relationship-ending, nothing to worry about, or something in-between?
Unquestionably, something in-between. Always was, always will be.

Monty Python - Dead Parrot Sketch
"pining for the fjords" - a reason that the parrot is "resting", rather than actually dead.

Aaah, thanks. I don't know whether to be embarrassed by the gaps in my verbatim recollection of the Python canon, or very embarrassed indeed. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

The parrot in question being a Norwegian Blue what else would it be pining for?

“My” parrot seemed if anything to be pinin’ for my ruddy finger.
Not keen on penguins either, since seeing The Wrong Trousers.
Give me a blue tit or goldfinch any day. Much less likely to turn nasty.
