Today in town there were a couple of chaps with a big banner and several posters showing how we've all been lied to and that the Earth is in fact flat !

They were very convincing and had plausible answers to every argument that they might be wrong.

So now I know the truth it will mean that now i can ....er

Being free of this conspiracy means that ... um ...

This changes everything ....like well you know its all different, no longer will I mmmmm

No longer will I be forced to give all my money to this giant conspiracy of globe manufacturers and Mercator projection map makers!

When I saw the subject line I thought this must be yet another Brexit thread!

And in a similar vein, I had a pair of Jehovah's Witnesses at the door today. But the intervention of the dog cut short their spiel, and consequently kept my blood pressure at a normal level.

In response, tell them it was proved 60 years ago that a sphere can be turned inside out without cutting it (and that perhaps we are living on the inside of the Earth!)
This 'sphere eversion' sounds even less likely than the earth being flat but happens to be true and was proved by Stephen Smale (q.v.).

The Earth can't be flat as cats would have knocked everything off the edge by now.

The earth can't be flat, too many hills and mountains. Lincolnshire is reasonably flat.

My dad insists the earth is flat.

Extreme flat earthers think that Australia is a myth and everyone who has been there is either part of the conspiracy or was hypnotised and actually went to Yorkshire (not sure what they did about the weather......I suppose hypnotism covers that concern, odd that Yorkshire hasn't thought of that themselves).

So, if you see a kangaroo in Yorkshire, now you know why!

I've just got home from a short trip to Yorkshire, and I'm going to Australia later this year: I'll report back accordingly. God knows why the flight should take so long if I'm only going as far as Barnsley...

Apparently, they just fly round in circles....or drug or hypnotise you, I can't quite recall which, it's a while since I read all their rubbish!

Bring it on. Drugging and/or hypnosis would certainly help me to endure 20+ hours of economy class hell.

Not so, or at least not entirely... I'll know that there's been a partial failure of the mind-control drugs, but is it the animal or the country it's failed on??? ;-)
