A really moving item about an illustrator/cartoonist who lost his wife to sepsis and keeps his memories of her by doodling.

He was on The One Show last night. See 16m55s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPUxWIZ ... e=youtu.be and a wonderful animation of his doodles at 20m00s

Re: A sepsis story
Indeed. I'm not usually the sort to wobble at that sort of thing, but it was wonderfully done. Properly powerful, the way the poor guy was communicating his feelings through the drawings. It's left me wanting to know how they all get on in the future. I hope they'll all be okay.

Re: A sepsis story
Yes very moving. I am sure they will be OK. They have got through the most critical first year and the guy has the two kids which will keep him going if nothing else will but he sounds remarkably together. I write from some experience (not of sepsis I should add).

Re: A sepsis story
Its a really significant unmet medical need with a high mortality rate. Companies have spent such a lot of money on unsuccessful treatments that it is difficult to raise money for new potential sepsis candidates. One company I know of started off targeting sepsis but couldn't raise any significant cash for their product. They stopped talking about sepsis and started talking about a related field, and got the funding they wanted.

Re: A sepsis story
Hi VRD
I take your point but I sometimes wonder what I have done wrong. I have lost two wives over a 20 year period. I survive, older than both would have been. The logic? I have no idea but they talk about genes. Of course I identify with the guy in the story but as I said earlier I think the young kids will actually help him. For me music helps but at the same time it produces emotions I would probably prefer to forget. Just occasionally I say 'What the f*ck?'
Most of the time like the guy in the video I just get on with life.
