Not funny, and not really worthy of being posted IMHO.

Quite; not a joking matter. It seems odd that JLR - who have been market savvy in the past - should be reacting so late to the fall-off in demand for diesel power (something obvious even before Dieselgate) and the need to invest hugely in 'electric'. Nissan is in the same boat, but are big enough to weather the storm. The clamp down on upmarket cars (except when you are very rich and well-connected politically) in China was less predictable.
Very tough times indeed for those who have been (or will be) laid off by JLR and Nissan.

Re: Land Rover
I think this whole thread should be moved to the Snug. I see that it has been reported already.

Moderator Message:
Agreed Chris - thanks for the report.
I've moved the thread from Laughing Lemons as requested, and we can keep a closer eye on it in BP's Snug to see how things, erm, develop...
People can expect any Brexit-related replies to be removed, I would think - that sort of stuff is much better suited over on Polite Discussions....
Cheers,
Itsallaguess

Evidently not!
o/b joke:
Land Rover make redundancies after poor sales in China.
Rename it so they can pronounce it, then.

It wasn't moved because of the original joke BnC (although I must say that I personally thought it was in very poor taste) - it was moved because of some the non-joke discussions that ensued, and the reports that those posts generated....

You're clearly on a roll here, so I'll leave you to it....
