Remainers missed a trick

The Remainers should simply have used this as their advert with no commentary:

Beautiful, thanks!

My ex-wife used to belong to a large choir which did flash-mob stuff on church steps and town squares in various parts of Europe while they were away on concert-hall tour dates. It was always very special to see the tourists slowly twigging that something very out of the ordinary was happening out of the blue, right there in front of their eyes. A little bit of real street magic that never failed to bring a bit of a tear to the eye, no matter how many times you saw it. The world needs more stuff like this.

What, an advert for a bank that isn't even a presence in this country?

Excuse my ignorance, I hadn't realised it was an ad for a bank.

It'll probably be the Lloyds headquarters one day, when the last of the UK institutions have hopped it to the continent, in order to stay eligible to trade within the single market. Still a nice bit of feelgood, though. Nobody stirs the European soul like Beethoven.

I think there were one or two clues, including at the end. Anyway, I'm guessing Slarti hasn't been up to the big smoke recently:

They are standing outside the bank and the titles come up at the end saying "We are Sxxxxx" - can't remember who.

It was very good, but given the orchestra and choir that performed it, so it should be. Though I think that they cheated a bit on the sound and re-did it indoors.

I try not to, if I can help it :D

But I still doubt they are known to many.

You really think that Brussels will stand for that? You're quite correct to say that London's financial market is the envy of the world, but if British institutions try to set themselves up as a kind of Bermuda (nominally inside the EU, but operationally outside it), Paris and Amsterdam and Frankfurt will jump on it immediately. They're all desperate for a chance to have us sent off the pitch.

Theresa May's lot are already muttering about trying to retain access to the European banking passport by quietly slipping a few billion into the refugee fund (or other such funds), in the fond hope that the continentals won't notice the deception. Whatever it is she's smoking, I wish she'd pass it round.

Few places offer such financial breadth and depth as does the UK/London, a gateway to the global 7 billion of which the EU makes up 6.5% excluding the UK. Many other states/countries are outpacing the EU's growth rate such that it is in relative economic decline.....You may very well see many EU firms deciding to HQ in the UK for its better regulatory and taxation policies and access to global markets, perhaps leaving just residual presences/HQ's inside the EU for single market access purposes

I knew it. You've been writing scripts for Boris Johnson, haven't you?

Does anyone know of a Polite Discussion Forum on Lemon Fool where such matters can be discussed?
