You'd think that at least one of the passengers was awake enough to notice that the plane was going in the wrong direction :shock:

Yes - my first thought was that at least one passenger might have expected to be flying over water at some stage of the flight!

Perhaps it was, and this does seem unlikely for the UK I admit, cloudy? Or indeed dark.

i don't fly, but always assumed there'd be an announcement from the staff before, or just after, takeoff-"welcome aboard this BA flight to Dusseldorf, expected arrival time 1355 local. "
