Well I'm delighted. All war, hunger, pestilence and need in the world have disappeared. At least you'd think so from watching the news.

Ah, but let's wait too see what the tabloids say. The Midwife has to be an illegal immigrant, the baby was born exactly 100 years after some Royal child they never speak of, the bed is the same bed Freddy Mercury died in and taxpayers are picking up the bill...etc etc.
Gosh, I can't wait to see the cover of Hello and OK magazines!!

You think that's bad, you should see the fuss on the other side of the pond....The US finally have royalty and baby plus entourage will be traveling in about two months on a royal tour of the likes not seen before. 30 minute program this morning just on what his name will be. I say call him Jesus and be done with it as the press here think the Messiah has re-appeared.

Horrible. Truly cringeworthy. You may have trumped my suggestion.
So horrific as to be rather good.

Or what about Rhubarb. A good down to earth name.

“Brexit, Brexit, naughty Brexit. Stop trying on that crown. You are only seventh in line to the throne”
Although personally I prefer Arthur – after the (legendary) king but more particularly after Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, a past master at putting Johnny Foreigner in his place.

Re: Woman gives birth.
Interesting - I put on the Radio 4 news at 9am, and was not troubled by the royal tittle tattle. Although I'm afraid that the forbidden item Br... was much in evidence. Then later, over breakfast (I'm retired and find no need to hurry in the morning), I foolishly checked the BBC news on my phone - tittle tattle galore. Clearly the BBC news desk appears to be split on the top stories as significantly as the political parties are over Br...
I'm voting for Henry. Then if we have one of those Agatha Christie plots where lots of people get snuffed out in order for someone to claim an inheritance , then we could possibly get Henry the 9th (of England) - which would be Henry the 1st of Scotland, and once again if the Royal Mail put the wrong digit on Scottish post boxes we could get a rash of pyrotechnics which should be much more significant than the ones launched by the Nationalists when the Royal Mail had the temerity to use ERII instead of ERI in Scotland.
But I digress - and I offer my best wishes for many sleepless nights to the happy couple.

Given his father is already called Henry, you could save yourself thinking up one more ingenious murder method.

I forgot about that - so we could have a Henry 9th and Henry 10th. Lots more pyrotechnic fun on Scottish Mail Boxes.

PS - I should have added that I'm a Henry 3rd, but no one has proposed putting my name on a post box.

[pedant] No he wouldn't. He'd probably* be Henry 9th of Scotland too. Kings of the Union take the highest number of either country in both [link]. So the first King Malcolm of England will be Malcolm the 5th [/pedant]
*Though names and numbers are subject to Royal perogative. So he could be Henry the 13th if he chose.
How about Malcolm?

That's a great idea - Malcolm 5th (or V if we want to be suitably anachronistic). But since the English are all better balanced than the Scots, I fear they will not go round blowing up mail boxes with the letter V. So no pyrotechnics.
However if the Royal prerogative was used to change it to Malcolm 1, there would be outrage in Scotland and I fear we may end up with Nicola 1. So maybe I'll settle for Henry.

If he gets a Jock name, you have to double it for taking on a bigger kingdom.
Malcolm X.
Malcolm X.

Re: Woman gives birth.
I like the idea of calling him Prince, so when he becomes a prince in later life he'd be Prince Prince.
Or combining his parents' names. Megha would be a mega name.
How about Roy Hal?
