Watching girls dance
Who'd have thought that one of the most hated records of the late 90's would turn into one of the most loved records for Millenials?
Especially girls. Ahem.
I think I could watch them dancing to this song all night.

Re: Watching girls dance
Dreadful song, I'll agree with the 1990s detractors. No soul, not even a properly funky rhythm, just an electronic thwunk thwunk thwunk.
I don't suppose that watching girls moving their bodies around will ever go out of fashion among us hetero males. And, as Nicki Minaj proved so conclusively (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDZX4ooRsWs, NSFW), you can clearly go a lot nearer to the XXXX wire and score a billion views without being denounced by the worldwide female contingent as a techno-whore.
But back to the point. At age 20, I liked my women to move about a bit, but not that fast. At 30, I'd have been wondering whether that was all they had to offer? At 40, I'd have been worrying about my ticker trying to keep up with the pressure. And in my sixties, glad to have established over half a century that there's a lot more to enjoy when wimmin stop trying so hard to superficially impress and instead take it all just a little bit slower?
Thank you.
BJ

Re: Watching girls dance
It does seem to be a trend. Indeed many such videos have the same girls and often the same clips.
However for try this link!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy3vc5I ... rt_radio=1
Lots of nice girls shuffling to irritating music, but look out for cousin it (seems like she had a hair cut and there is a body under the hair)*.
*Adams familly ref for those who don't know of cousin it.

Sorry, I only lasted two seconds on that video.
There's bad records and then there's bad records.
At least my video was watchable. That video is not watchable in any sense of the word.

Well that was my point, though it does grow upon you. However my point was that the "music" must, for these videos, be easy to fix clips to.
Here is a spot of Elvis, with the same clip of the girl in the worn jeans from the video that you couldn't watch!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQrlBIMTzIM
I confess that I'm sufferening from cognitive dissonance considering that the two could have the same dance moves, but there you go.

It's very tiresome when people say. 'I don't like that, look at this.'
Start your own thread about Elvis if you want people here to look at his videos.

There is a misunderstanding here.
They're the same girls doing the the same dance as your video. eg the two girls at 0:35 in your video are at 0:57 in the Elvis one.
People are taking the same pictures of the same girls dancing and putting it to the music of their choice
Search for "Shuffle Videos" on YouTube - those same 2 girls are currently showing in the icon of the first video

I quite like that track. Didn't know it was hated.
Now you've made me watch this one 3000 times

The smiley dancer in the yellow skirt kills me.

Re: Watching girls dance
In my very dim and distant youth I was a huge fan of Northern Soul, and used to attend various highly disreputable night clubs, such as The Twisted Wheel in Manchester, that specialised in playing the music.
Whilst I loved (and still love) the music, it was played largely because it was great dance music, but for some strange reason most of the really good dancers in the club were men, with the women little more than accessories.
This is an ancient example of both the music and the type of dance moves, and illustrates what I'm saying. If you're anything like me it's the male dancers that catch the attention - and not just because of the 70's Afros and those magnificent flares that I remember with a mixture of nostalgia and embarrassment!

Re: Watching girls dance
As one of the worldwide female contingent ( ) I prefer this, the Enya one lower on the thread. It never fails to make me smile.
The two versions just prove that some dance routines can in fact fit many songs.

(I can't work out how to get a URL just for that one though)

The classic "Trampled Underfoot" that proves that.
