It's not free. It's free at the point of use. We "all" pay for it subject to our tax status.
I know, but my point was that because it is free at the point of delivery, it is hard to have a vibrant private healthcare system because competing with "free" is never easy.
And of course when you make anything free, demand tends to infinity.
