Beetoven’s Moonlight Sonata
Last one from me I promise.
I’m just completely mesmerised by her hands.
How is this even possible?

Awesome!
I've no idea how pianists can do such different things with their left and right hands. And at such high speed.

Fast, but at least the rhythms are more or less the same. Try looking at Chopin's Studies or even Ragtime piano where the left hand suddenly decides to go off and do something different.
Steve..... amateur, frustrated and very cr*p pianist.

Re: Beetoven’s Moonlight Sonata
Not forgetting Rowan Atkinson on air piano (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8MRWhQ0iDU). The Moonlight section starts after two minutes or so, although it's all rather fine.
Although, for my money, the young Dudley Moore's Beethoven variations on Colonel Bogey were even more memorable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8MRWhQ0iDU

Sorry! My mistake. ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIFzbLE6bHU. (Try and ignore the annoying canned laughter, the performance is pretty marvellous.) Dudley was a pretty mean jazz-quartet pianist when he wasn't gooning around with Peter Cook. Could have made a career in either field.

Could somebody change the title of this thread please? The lack of an 'h' in Beethoven jars.

I had but thought a misspelling at 03:49am was forgivable.

Re: Beetoven’s Moonlight Sonata
Assuming HYD is writing from the UK , yes, I agree I will forgive him at 3.49 am, but I thought he was newly married?????
Anyway, it still jars.

The Mrs is in Crimea and I had been to one of many 50th Birthday celebrations that are due this year (me and friends).
As you’ve gathered I was three sheets to the wind and I knew that the spelling looked wrong but was convinced it was because of the double ‘e’ and not a missing ‘h’.

Re: Beetoven’s Moonlight Sonata
The pianist in HYD's original link is here .... playing on one of the public pianos in the arrivals hall at St Pancras.
The piano has seen better days, even one of the keys seems stuck down, but she still turns on the magic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waXMhyQtLyM
Whenever I've met someone there, there has never been entertainment like this !
