Probably. I always get then mixed up.

It's one of the tudes anyway.

Latitude has an 'a' in it. 'a' for 'across'.

You're welcome.

But it also has a u in it which could mean up

Not to mention a d. :(

I find these helpful rules work best when there isn't an a in the day of the week.

If you can remember your own name you can remember lat/long
OK, if you have to check a slip of paper in your wallet when asked for your name, you may struggle

A name label inside one's jacket is also helpful
(edit - I changed the "your" to "one's" - just in case it looked personal :) )

Needs the u to fit the thread title.

I'll get me coat. If only I can remember my own name, so I know what label to look for.

I would be more worried if my GP asked me "what side do you dress, Sir" - unless my mental abilities has degenerated so much that I has confused him with my tailor.

I think I'd be inclined to say "DRESS? The wild side, of course. And what's all this Sir business?" Ought to shut him up for a minute or two.

Respect Sir, respect. Too much informality these days. Comes of sparing the rod etc.

Ugh.

But surely most of us are of an age to have learned hovering above the seat, when the vast majority of public loos were so unsavoury as to deter one from any kind of contact.

I've never forgotten one in Kano Airport, Nigeria. The wild life in it was enough to put you off your urgent need.

The tilt doesn't change. It's the movement around the orbit of the sun which results in the northern hemisphere being angled towards the sun
[/pedant mode]
Having said that, the rain does seem a wee bit warmer today

Earliest London sunset was 13th December and latest sunrise will be 31st December

Why are these not on the winter solstice?

Completely unrelated, perihelion will be on 5th January

That's the bit between your bum hole and your baw bag isn't it? I didn't know it had a day. I suppose everything has to have a day these days. International Day of the Gooch. Nice.

indeed that's a big part in why the parlance has changed from "global warming" to "climate change"
- it's a balance, and a very fine one at that

This has been known (as a possibility) for a long time. It was early 1998 I wrote about it in material that went into high schools throughout Europe, from where at least some of a generation now nearly 40 will have seen it 8-)

You're still on yellow, dude. Down here in amber country, we're walking at 45 degrees to the vertical and there are some quite large lumps falling out of our softy southern trees. (Outside our window, a 150 foot sequoia.)

Point taken about the fuss they're making in the south-east though. The BBC's pic of serious rail disruption near Sevenoaks, caused by a flyaway trampoline landing on the tracks, was something of a classic.

Yeah and it'll probably take all day to clear it.

I'm seriously worried my bins will blow over. It's no joke Snorvey!
