There ya go, it's all in the Bible, you see. Although admittedly, that's not a book that the Donald is familiar with. He's probably waiting for the cartoon version. :|

Look I've had just about enough of this prejudice
- there is NOTHING wrong with comic books

Infact the comic adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" is probably better than the movie! Next thing you'll be telling us the Broons ain't literature....

And DJT is pure well familiar with the Bible! Sure he held one aloft and upside down to ward off something or other, in front of a church he'd never been in.

Just call them 'Bande dessinée', or graphic novels

(I am a fan of the Alan Moore stuff, the Freak Bothers, Pete Loveday, and Tintin)

As somebody in the Financial Times comment section observed, he's spent more time in Stormy Daniels than he ever did in church.

I agree. There are more energy dense and lower cost solutions being developed for centralised storage.

e.g.

and with much better round trip efficiency

lastly, storage is not the only solution to grid balancing

Trump's turning a blind eye to rightwing violence or condoning (but condemning that from other groups) calls to mind Hitler's destablising of German society. He often encouraged mob violence or atrocities but not always explicitly. Understanding the code was enough to spark off loyal followers to do his bidding. The same technique was used by Stalin.

Nudge nudge, wink wink, and Monty Python might have it.

Was rereading Grandville by Bryan Talbot yesterday.. Snowy from Tintin crops up in an opium den hallucinating about being on the moon. If you'd like Moore Talbot's stuff is very good

Likewise Trump's son's out burst - deeply disgraceful.

There must be a theory of Truth, which goes something like: Absolute Truth = fact+context*.
Absolute truth can be warped when placed to a sufficiently massive influence. Like space/time gets warped.
*context includes motive, time and place.
Trump and his followers often tell outright lies, but more often it's taking a fact and displacing it to some other context so it is no longer valid. So we get flexible truth or "alternative facts". I think it goes further than being economical with the truth or normal political "spin".

The final program in the series of the Trump Show was a scary reminder of the danger this man poses.

Now you're talking. The old Asterix comics were published in 111 languages (including various dialects), and because they were so heavy on puns and word-play, the authors often had to re-work the jokes completely to make them funny. I have a few German ones which are very different from the French ones. Impressive stuff.

I expect they're working on the Trump comics at this very moment. Although actually I think Alfred Jarry said most of it 124 years ago in Ubu Roi. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubu_Roi .

I don't think it's hyperbole to suggest parallels between Hitler and Trump. Just one example being that Instead of Brownshirts there are rednecks, both armed to the teeth.

Let's hope that DT throwing his toys out of his pram will finally confine him to ignominy where he belongs.

I've always found the english versions seriously lacking compared to the original french. Some things just do not translate well.

If they did I think they would come 5th though - still they would get to have some fun in Europe.

Well if it stopped now the season would likely be abandoned.

But precedent would be for the season to ended and calculations made on a points per game basis. Southampton have 16 points from 8 games, so 2 ppg. There are 2 clubs, Liverpool and Leicester better than this and take the top 2 spots. 2 other clubs are on 2 ppg matching Southampton, namely Tottenham and Aston Villa, and with both of those having superior goal difference they would sit above Southampton in the table too.

A man who crossed the Irish Sea from Scotland to the Isle of Man "on a Jet Ski" to visit his girlfriend has been jailed for breaching Covid-19 laws.

Douglas Courthouse heard 28-year-old Dale McLaughlan took four-and-a-half hours to travel from the Isle of Whithorn to Ramsey on Friday.

McLaughlan, from North Ayrshire, made the crossing despite having never driven a water scooter before.

Prosecutors said the 28-year-old bought the vehicle and set off on the journey of about 25 miles (40km), which he had expected to take 40 minutes.

After he arrived in Ramsey at about 13:00 GMT, he walked another 15 miles (25km) to his girlfriend's home in Douglas

I thought the seas around the IoM were very rough, and how he navigated I have no idea.
