There might also be those who suspect the story of being spun, very likely by omitting the value of state redistributive actions. It may not be on the scale of Europe, but even the US has some very substantial benefits, both universal and means-tested.

That's fine then. Your suspicion cheers me.

I ordered this from Amazon a couple of weeks ago.

The leash duly arrived, but I'm still waiting for the retractable dog. Do you think it's still OK, or do I need to inform the RSPCA?

Reminds me of the time I bought a 'hand shredder' . . .

No, I wasn't wishing to inflict harm upon myself, the product could have better been described as a 'hand operated paper shredder'.

They haven't learnt: https://www.amazon.co.uk/WOVELOT-Shredd ... 07K65ZWXQ/

Honestly, if I ever got onto Strictly and I was ever paired with Oti Mabusi I'd have to maintain a significant air gap between our sweaty bodies.

Craig would be crying for us 'to get closer darling'.

Errr....no Craig. It's not just the competition that's stiff.

A man who was fascinated by the self-professed “wickedest man in the world”, Aleister Crowley, has been banned for a year from visiting the ruins of a north mansion.

Its a perfectly innocent story about our local MSP giving support to a new startup business.

...but the headline picture is quite alarming!

It seems very early this year.

It is, it's the earliest date it can ever be.

Surely 27th October 2019 was earlier?

To an engineer a dog is something that locks two moving parts together. If the parts move, they move together. So your leash advert may be perfectly correct. The finger-operated release may be a friction lock or a dog engaging with a toothed wheel.

Ahh.... That's better.. I feel so annoyingly pedantic today.

But surely the leash is a retriever?

We're in tier one.

But just think about all us Tier 3 persons from an unmentionable area of central Scotland, piling into whatever vehicle comes to hand, and heading up the A9 to share in your legendary highland hospitality. That should quickly get you an up-rating. :D

What's Scottish for Barnard Castle, and is it a neighbour of Snorvey Mansions?

Sorry, I'm heading south to help patrol the border.
