Super Sunday for me:
England in the World Cup final...live on Channel 4!
British GP
and Wimbeldon final, although it will be hard pressed to match the Federer/Nadal semi-final!
Super Sunday or what.

Just like buses - three arriving all together
Does sound like an excellent line up and definitely one all sports fans.
I'll be taming the wilds of my back garden interspersed with some every long tea breaks

Noting that there is absolutely no chance of rain in Beafeh Leah today. The weather forecast is dull and overcast but given I have to lift a few sleepers around I'm more than confident it will be the warmest day of the year
I'm going out and I may be gone for some time

Ben Rinnes is good for you - but I'm not sure about the chocolate chip cookie.

Re: Y'all have a good weekend
I plan to have a lazy weekend. Last week we had our two granddaughters (11 and 7) as guests, and we now feel the need to recover.
I started off last week with the determination to show that I was just as young and fit as my grandchildren. So when I went out on a bicycle ride I decided that I would cycle without the aid of my electric motor, but after a mile, I switched on the power - to be accompanied by yells of Cheat from my elder granddaughter. And later in the week when I took her out fishing on the loch, I introduced her to the joys of rowing the boat - which she did admirably. She also caught the only trout. Both of the kids joined my wife's (elderly ladies) walking groups on two mornings. These usually terminate at a café where the ladies very abstemiously have a cup of tea or coffee. But our grandchildren were anything but abstemious, and this caused the ladies to break rank, and bust their diets.
Anyway, we had a good time, but this weekend will all be about relaxing. Breakfast was at 11am this morning.

Yup, still lots of hedge trimming to do for me. Just done an hour and half's worth.
And it's too damn humid for outdoor work!

I have just cut my grass before lunch. I have cut down some of the long grass where the orchids have finished flowering, but a big patch still has a lot in flower. Apart from that, my compost bin was well and truly full, so it needs a bit more decomposing before more can go in. My tribe of slowworms were in residence before I started, along with a lot of ants on which they feed.
I fear that I have got to the stage at which I need to engage a young woman to help out. The warning signs are there and I do not wish force majeure to come into play. Meanwhile I shall enjoy my second pint of shandy.

Thought you'd fooled us there, didn't you? But I spotted your error..... 5.15 on saturday morning simply does not exist. Or any other morning, for that matter.

Totally agree, but there did used to be a 5.15am on Friday night. Long since abolished.

I can vouch for that time as I was dropping APJrJr off at the same time (guessing different pool). Not quite as hectic as DM as firstly APJr has just finished A-Levels so his clock has shifted back about 3 hours for the summer. He usually surfaces for elevenses. Secondly no APJrJrJr. After having two, we worked out what caused them and put an end to that
Just had a new boiler fitted this week, fitter left at 1400, so afternoon spent snagging and making good everywhere they had cut holes and removed pipes, thermostats, bits of ceiling etc. Oh, and it appears to not be necessary to remove all offcuts from loft. Invoice arrived by email about 30 mins after he left, so might have to be a small beer.

Sitting on the patio looking at the garden yesterday evening enjoying a quiet Campari & Orange with the missus, and she suddenly announces, "I think my box hedge needs a trim."
Does anyone know how to get large Campari stains out of a linen shirt?

I checked, because I didn't believe you - and he is playing Elgin Town Hall tonight
I'm guessing the town hall is not Elgin's finest building?
Looks like something the Russians built in the 1960s

Re: Y'all have a good weekend
I did thanks.
Friday night, go pick up two minibuses from a school.
05:00 Saturday morning get up
06:00 Meet 20 Explorer Scouts and some other leaders.
06:20 Go to Gilwell Park in Chingford for Gilwell24. 4000+ Explorer Scouts on a 24 hour activity camp. You may have seen interviews on BBC Breakfast show.
Spent the next 24 hours drinking tea, sneaking on to the odd activity when there wasn't a queue, and mostly watching teenagers having a fab time. Had a sleep, drove them back, then may have fallen asleep in front of the F1. When not maybe asleep, flicking over to the cricket, and catching up on the Tour de France.
A good for the soul weekend.

Re: Y'all have a good weekend
I finished off my weekend by spending Sunday evening on the loch (surprised?). The trout were not accommodating, and I blanked - as did the club champion (who is also a member of the Scottish Fly Fishing Team). So we both had to ring the bell of shame which hangs in the club howf.
Its noticeable that the nights are closing in. By 11 pm we were resorting to head torches to tie on favoured patterns - to no avail.

And I finished off my weekend by watching Burt Bacharach perform a two hour set of classic songs and movie scores in the Sunday evening sunshine. It was pretty close to perfect, with the sun setting over a small lake as he took the stage with his band, and all at the tender age of 91.
Well done Burt!
