One small step for man

Of course, there are those who believe the pictures of Armstrong on the moon were fake. They weren't fake, just not quite the whole truth. Here's what really happened:

I just love this painting. A few years ago I was stewarding at an art exhibition of local artists and saw it, and would have bought it but it was already sold.
Here's more of Stan Milne's work:

But he didn't say 'a'. Of course it only makes sense that with the 'a' but that isn't what was recorded. It's been a subject of conjecture over the years. It's been suggested that there was a radio drop-out at that moment but personally I just think he got his line slightly wrong. Have a listen...

[Extreme pedant mode] The title of the painting is "One small step for man". The artist has total freedom to choose any title he wishes. Any similarity to what Armstrong said (or is rumoured to have said) is purely coincidental [/Extreme pedant mode]

Anyway, I think it should have been titled "One small step for (a) sheep"

On the subject of who said what, there also seemed to have been this person called Guard who created the Evan and the Earth. He must have been a Welsh Guard, I suppose?

I've always believed that Neil Armstrong fluffed his intended speech with a verbal aberration that can occur at a " once in a lifetime " moment.

Another example is Margaret Thatcher announcing " We are a grandmother ".
