Happy Birthday
Come the stroke of midnight, I will be 50 years old.
It's fair to say that TMF and TLF have been a huge part of my life in the last 20 years.
I've made some great friends and i've also lost some great friends, due to a difference of opinion.
One thing is for sure. There would be a huge hole in my life, if I wasn't able to vent my frustrations here.
In no particular order, i'd like to thank the following for making me think about how I lead my life:
Beerpig
Branmin
DiamondEcho
Rhyd
Itsallaguess
XFool
redsturgeon
wizard
Clitheroekid
dspp
Howard
AiY
pochisoldi
Lootman
sg31
Leothebear
bungeejumper
kiloran
slarti
gryffron
If i've forgotten you. my sincere apologies. Please reply 'HYD, you're an idiot. What about me?'

Re: Happy Birthday
Original Birthday:
Can't recall, obviously. But within a week I had had two surgeries, to remove my foreskin and a polydactl, so I'm guessing I wasn't happy.
10th Birthday:
Can't recall
20th Birthday:
Was very drunk at Uni. Girlfriend slept on the floor rather than with me. Don't blame her.
30th Birthday:
My mother was visiting and so we went to an Italian restaurant in South Kensington. My mother responded to the waiter's innuendo about the size of his pepper pot.
40th Birthday:
I had it all. Good job, house in London and in the country. Wife, two kids, white picket fence. Dinner party with friends. Felt strangely dissatisfied.
50th Birthday:
Sedona, Arizona. Had fight with wife.
60th Birthday:
Dinner party with old friends, kids and their girlfriends. Then a pub crawl. Decent night. Mostly felt a sense of relief about living that long. Never thought I would.
Overall I'd say birthdays are anti-climatic. So much joy is expected of them but in reality they can disappoint.
But don't let me bring you down on your special day, and thank you for the honourable mention.

Gawd Bless You, Kind Sir! happy birthday to you
I turned 54 a couple of weeks back
I recently bought some slippers from M&S. On the plus side, I spent last weekend at a music festival watching the likes of the Stranglers and Peter Hook (New Order) - all older than me by some way

I have but one wish.
I'd like to be here to wish you Happy Birthday when you get your next 50 in
I can assure you it's all downhill from here Things, and I mean bodily parts simply head south at an alarming rate. There's a very good reason why men of our age wear braces and boots
Many more

Hi Branmin,
Spent the weekend in Brussels. What a fab place.
Feel slightly sad that we are leaving the EU but we've tried our best to get a better deal, right from when David Cameron went there 4 years ago . . . . and they said 'Non'.
C'est La Vie.

I quite like Brussels
Did you visit A la mort subite? I never made it there - we used to drink in a place called Falstaff, and a small bar called Kafka up beyond Bourse

Re: Happy Birthday
It always amazes me when I speak to friends about the first record/single that they ever bought.
Invariably, it will be the Sex Pistols. Or the Clash.
Really?!
I don't think so. The first record I bought was The Smurfs.
But the first record I bought that was really cool was Showadywaddy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fYZdQB8w_s

They are very comfortable.
At recent festival I saw John Shuttleworth. He seems very sensible, and I found myself nodding in agreement.
